The 3M Hydrogen Fluoride Cartridge/Filter 7093C is a highly effective respiratory protection device that is approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). It offers the highest level of protection against both oil and non-oil based particles. This cartridge/filter is designed to be used with 3M Half Face and Full Face Respirators 6000, 7000, and FF-400 Series, which feature bayonet filter holders for easy attachment. When properly fitted, the 3M Hydrogen Fluoride Cartridge/Filter 7093C can be used in a wide range of applications, including welding, brazing torch cutting, metal pouring, soldering, and exposure to hazardous substances such as lead, asbestos, cadmium, arsenic, Methylenedianiline (MDA), and Hydrogen Fluoride (HF). It provides protection against concentrations of these substances up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) when used with half face respirators, and up to 50 times the PEL when used with full face respirators. In addition to its primary function, this filter also offers nuisance level protection against organic vapors and acid gas exposures. It is important to note that full face respirators must undergo quantitatively fit testing to claim an assigned protection factor above 10 in negative pressure mode. It is not recommended to use this cartridge/filter in environments that are Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH). The 3M Hydrogen Fluoride Cartridge/Filter 7093C is not NIOSH-approved for organic vapors or acid gases, except for hydrogen fluoride. It is specifically designed for respiratory protection against hydrogen fluoride, and should not be used for protection against other organic vapors or acid gases. It is crucial for users to read and understand the User Instructions provided with the product before use. Respirators should be used in accordance with all local regulations. In the United States, a written respiratory protection program must be implemented, meeting the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134, including training, fit testing, and medical evaluation. In Canada, the CSA standards Z94.4 requirements must be met, along with the requirements of the applicable jurisdiction. Misuse of this product may result in sickness or death.
