PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is 3M™ Paper Sheet 346U made of?
3M™ Paper Sheet 346U is made with a blend of premium aluminum oxide mineral and fiber-reinforced, B-weight latex-saturated backing paper.
-
How many sheets are in each case of this product?
There are 500 sheets per case of 3M™ Paper Sheet 346U.
-
How do I choose the right grit for my project?
The grit selection largely depends on the level of aggressiveness you need for your sanding application. For rougher surfaces such as heavy rust or paint removal, we recommend using lower numbers like P36 to P80. For finer finishes like finishing an auto body surface, select higher numbers from P120 all the way up to ultra-fine grades such as P1000.
-
Is there any warranty on this product?
We stand behind our products and want every satisfied customer. As a result, we offer limited warranties regarding both our material manufacturing performance and consistency with written specifications communicated at time-of-sale including proper use applications and storage conditions.
-
Can these be cut into smaller pieces if needed for the job at hand?
Yes! If sheet sizes aren't convenient for your specific job/project or workshop layout/organization/layout; it's fine—our abrasive sheets can be easily hand-cut or machine-cut to fit your unique needs while retaining consistent abrasive grain patterns across other parts that were not trimmed by hand or machines.
Product Description
Aluminum oxide is a highly durable mineral that maintains sharp points on the grains for a longer period compared to natural abrasives like emery or garnet. The sandpaper features an open-coat construction where the abrasive grains are attached with some space between them. This design helps minimize the accumulation of dust on the paper's surface, preventing the abrasive points from getting clogged. The issue of loading, which often occurs when sanding soft materials, is effectively addressed by this open-coat construction. By reducing the clogging of the abrasive, the usable life of the sandpaper sheet is extended.
