Scotch-Brite™ Multi-Finishing Wheel is a convolute-constructed wheel that provides cleaning and final finishing for stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper, and other metals. The combination of mineral grades and soft density make the wheel well suited for final finishing applications where a high degree of conformability and less density are needed.

  • Provides uniform grain for final finishing on stainless steel, ferrous, and non-ferrous metals
  • Highly conformable for consistent finishing on contoured, curved and other surfaces
  • Moderate aggressiveness and lighter density provide controlled wear for consistent results over the life of the wheel
  • Convolute construction provides a balanced, smooth running wheel throughout product life
  • Open, non-woven web runs cool and lessens impact on heat-sensitive materials

  1. What is a Scotch-Brite Multi-Finishing Wheel?

A Scotch-Brite Multi-Finishing Wheel is a type of abrasive wheel designed to be used with bench motors for surface conditioning applications.

  2. What are the dimensions and quantity of the MU-WL, 2S Medium, 12 in x 1 in x 5 in, 1 ea/Case?

The MU-WL wheel measures at 12 inches by one inch by five inches and comes with one wheel per case.

  3. What kind of projects or materials can I use this finishing wheel on?

This medium grade finishing wheel works well on various metal surfaces including copper, stainless steel, nickel chrome alloys as well as plastics like acrylics and composites.

  4. . Can I use it to grind down welds?

. No – our multi-finishing wheels are not ideal for grinding down welds. If you’re looking for help smoothing out any rough spots caused by welding joints we would recommend using an angle grinder instead.

  5. . How long do they last?

. While your mileage may vary depending on what type of project you’re working on each individual finisher can last several months under normal conditions but heavy-duty usage or exposure to moisture could shorten that lifespan dramatically

The Scotch-Brite™ Multi-Finishing Wheel is an excellent tool for achieving #3 or #4 finishes on stainless steel and other metals on flat, curved, and contoured surfaces. The wheel's open-web construction ensures that it runs cool and resists loading, reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping while extending the wheel's lifespan. The Multi-Finishing Wheel is available in coarse, medium, and fine grade abrasive.

The Multi-Finishing Wheel uses silicon carbide abrasive, a synthetic mineral that is incredibly sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. Although it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.

Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives are unique surface conditioning products that incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. This combination creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the product's lifespan. The material used in the product runs cool and is load-resistant, which keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers.
