3M Double Coated Tape 97002 is a 2 mil black polyester (PET) film tape coated on both sides with high performance pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive. This double sided tape provides permanent bond on foams, plastics, metals and composite materials subjected to a wide range of environmental conditions. The 74-lb. polycoated kraft paper liner adds stability for processing.

3M™ Double Coated Tape 97002 is a high performance tape specifically designed for the most demanding splicing and bonding applications. The acrylic adhesive is mounted on each side of a black polyester (PET) film carrier which improves the handling of the tape. The medium-firm acrylic delivers high initial and final adhesion for efficient laminating procedures and adds stability during processes such as die-cutting and slitting.

What is Double Coated Tape?

In general, double coated tape is composed of a paper, film, or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel-away liner that is removed at the time of application. These tapes can be applied by hand or with a dispenser.
