PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is 3M™ Adhesion Promoter N210?

3M™ Adhesion Promoter N210 is a liquid adhesion promoter that comes in a one-liter bottle and helps promote adhesion to many surfaces.

  2. Does it work on both porous and non-porous surfaces?

Yes, this product can be used on both porous and non-porous surfaces, including painted metal, glass, plastic, rubber, and painted wood.

  3. How should I apply it?

You can apply the product by spraying or wiping it onto the surface. However, before using the product ensure you read all application methods recommended for safety purposes.

Ensure Better Adhesion of Acrylic Foam Tapes
3M adhesion promoter N210 is specially formulated to be used with 3M acrylic foam tapes for automotive exterior trim applications. There are several options for application tools, including a pressurized flow gun or knurled roller. To ensure the most effective bond, it is important to clean and dry the application surface. If the surface is contaminated, it should be cleaned with an appropriate solvent such as isopropyl alcohol.

Formulated for Easy Application
To apply the adhesion promoter, use a thin, uniform coating on the bonding surface. The minimum amount that will fully coat the surface is typically less than 50 microns thick. Allow the adhesion promoter to dry thoroughly before applying tape. It will usually dry in less than one minute, but allowing a drying time of ten minutes can improve initial adhesion value. For best results, apply tape within 30 minutes after application of promoter. Ultimate adhesion generally occurs after 24 hours of bonding.

Better Science for Better Adhesion from 3M
3M has been developing adhesive products and technologies since 1925 when a 3M lab assistant invented masking tape. The work that began with a single 3M engineer now spans decades and generations and all of it goes into each 3M product developed for automotive OEM, like 3M™ Adhesion Promoter N210.
