3M™ Wind Protection Tapes have excellent UV resistance and can be used to help protect wind turbine blade surfaces from expensive-to-repair and power-robbing damage caused by minor impacts and erosion from rain, sleet, sand, dirt, or other debris.
Rotating at speeds of up to 200 MPH (320 kph), wind turbine blades consistently encounter an array of environmental factors – including rain, sand, hail, and salt spray – which can cause significant damage that is both expensive to repair and reduces the blades
- Constructed from a tough, abrasion and puncture-resistant polyurethane elastomer
- Protects the leading edge of wind turbine blades from erosion damage
- Available in clear or light gray colors for OEM or field applications
