This double-sided spacer is specifically designed to withstand the stresses of switch actuation over long periods. The adhesive is formulated to provide excellent shear strength, creating a strong and durable bond with plastics and other smooth surfaces. With less oozing at the edges, this spacer allows for easier slitting and die-cutting, resulting in faster part processing and minimal waste. The adhesive is applied at 2.0 mils to each side of a 5.0 mil polyester film carrier, adding structural strength to the spacer.

The 3M Membrane Switch Spacer 7959MP is equipped with double 4.2 mil 58 lb. polycoated kraft (PCK) paper lay-flat liners. These liners ensure consistent coverage of the adhesive, ensuring full bonding performance after application. They resist curling, tunneling, and buckling, increasing dimensional stability and maintaining their integrity even under high humidity conditions. This makes storage and processing more efficient. The liner design also enables improved rotary die-cutting at high speeds and improved sheet processing.

The 3M Membrane Switch Spacer 7959MP is constructed with a 2.0 mil high-performance acrylic adhesive coated on each side of a 5.0 mil polyester film carrier. It is double-linered with a 4.2 mil, 58 lb. moisture-resistant, lay-flat PCK paper. This spacer is designed to separate switch circuitry until actuation, providing excellent temperature resistance (up to 400F/204C short-term heat resistance), as well as resistance to solvents and UV rays.

The adhesive used in this spacer, the 3M High Performance Acrylic Adhesive 200MP, is an industry standard for graphic attachment and general industrial joining applications. It exhibits outstanding adhesion to metal, polycarbonate (PC), ABS, and polyester (PET), making it a popular choice across various industries.
