The 3M Replacement P95 Particulate Filter 5P71 is a respiratory protection device designed to safeguard against a wide range of oil and non-oil based particulate contaminants. It is essential to use this filter in conjunction with the appropriate 3M 5000 Series Respirators or 6000 Series Cartridges for various applications such as spray painting, lacquering, petrochemical and chemical manufacturing, pesticide spraying, and agriculture. This filter is capable of providing protection against concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) with half facepieces, or 50 times PEL with quantitatively fit tested full facepieces. When used with the suitable respirator, the filter effectively shields against three types of airborne particles. Firstly, it filters solids generated during the processing of minerals, coal, iron ore, cotton, flour, and certain other substances. Secondly, it blocks liquids or oil-based particles emitted from sprays that do not release harmful vapors. Lastly, it provides defense against metal fumes produced during welding, brazing, cutting, and other operations involving the heating of metals. The P95 rating of this filter ensures that it filters at least 95% of airborne particles and exhibits strong resistance to oil.
