The Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip Disc D1 is a highly efficient surface cleaning tool that eliminates the need for wire brushes. It is made of extra coarse grade silicon carbide embedded in resin-covered fibers that remove rust and coatings quickly, leaving a satisfactory finish. The open web construction resists loading for long-lasting usefulness and helps reduce smearing.

Silicon Carbide Abrasive Combines Aggressive Cut with a Fine Finish

Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. It produces a finer finish than aluminum oxide, although it breaks down faster.
