PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What are the dimensions of 3M™ Heat Shrinkable Medium Wall Polyolefin Tubing MDT-0400-48A?

The diameter of this tubing is 4 inches when it's not shrunk, and it'll shrink to half its size -2 inches after shrinking.

  2. Can I use this heat-shrinkable tubing for outdoor applications?

Yes, you can. This medium-wall polyolefin tubing has UV-resistant properties that make it suitable for outdoor environments.

  3. Is the installation process simple or do we need any special tools to install this tube effectively?

You don't always require a specific tool to operate on your wire; however, using a heating gun with accurate temperature control will give optimal outcomes with no burnt wires. Additionally, you should clean your cable before applying heat shrinkage material as contaminants will harm cable reliability over time.

  4. How does this product help in securing our cables from abrasion and corrosion?

This Heat-Shrinkable Medium Wall Tube provides superior insulation against moisture ingression while providing protection from mechanical stress such as abrasions and corrosion damage due to soil substances attacking buried wires.
