3M Tape 62 is a 4 mil thick, PTFE film backing, electrical tape. This printable tape is suitable for use on high temperature coils, wire harnesses and capacitors. The thermosetting, silicone adhesive on the flame retardant tape offers optimized adherence in areas of high ambient temperatures. This tape withstands a temperature range of 32 to 356 F (0 to 180 C).

    3M™ PTFE Film Electrical Tape 62 is an electrical tape made of a thin, high-performance, stabilized polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film that offers excellent chemical resistance and the ability to operate at high temperatures.

    This tape provides superior abrasion resistance while reducing friction between surfaces. It will not flag or peel and can be used in harsh environments due to its chemical and moisture-resistant properties. The tape has excellent electrical properties including a dielectric strength exceeding 2500 volts per mil.

  3. What are some applications for this type of tape?

    This PTFE film electrical tape can be used in many applications such as wrapping wire harnesses, as insulation for transformers or motors where temperature remains below 260°C /500°F, anti-stick roller covers, chute liners and bearings all benefit from the non-stick qualities creating smooth movement with no buildup over time.
