PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is the width and length of the 3M™ PTFE Film Electrical Tape 61, 3/4 in x 36 yd, 3 in core Mini-Case?

The tape is three-quarters of an inch (0.75 inches) wide and has a total length of thirty-six yards.

  2. What makes this product unique?

This electrical tape features high temperature resistance up to five hundred degrees Fahrenheit. It is constructed with a thin layer of polytetrafluoroethylene material that won't stick to itself or other surfaces.

  3. Can I use this tape on just any surface?

Yes! The PTFE film used on this tape provides excellent release properties while being resistant to most chemicals and abrasion.

  4. How many rolls come in a Mini-Case?

A mini-case contains five individual rolls each with three-inch cores for easy installation onto standard dispensers.

  5. Is this electrical insulation rated?

Absolutely! Not only does it feature flame-retardant qualities, but its dielectric strength testing certifies it as Class H - suitable for high voltage applications (>2kV).

Product Description

3M™ Tape 61

3M™ Tape 61 features a thermosetting, silicon adhesive that ensures excellent adherence. This high-quality PTFE tape is designed for applications where minimal shrinkage is required, making it suitable for use across a wide range of temperatures.

This tape is a PTFE film with a thermosetting silicone adhesive. It is typically used in applications requiring high-temperature performance, excellent electrical insulation, and a high degree of chemical resistance. In the automotive industry, it could be used for:

Insulating electrical components: Due to its high dielectric strength.

Wrapping sensors or wiring: That may be exposed to high temperatures or harsh chemicals.

Splicing and sealing in harsh environments: Where heat and solvent resistance is needed.

Furthermore, 3M™ Tape 61 is UL Listed, ensuring its compliance with safety standards, and it is also RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant, making it environmentally friendly.
