Scotch Tape 23 is a 30 mil, premium grade, highly conformable, rubber splicing tape. The self fusing tape has a special polyester liner, which will not stick to the tape upon unwind. It withstands temperatures up to 194 F (90 C).

Scotch® Rubber Splicing Tape 23 by 3M™

Scotch® Rubber Splicing Tape 23 by 3M™ is an excellent choice for primary insulation for cable splice and termination applications. It is compatible with solid dielectric cable insulation and features a premium-grade adhesive with a polyethylene liner backed by self-fusing Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR). This splicing tape is easy to unwind and use.

The thick adhesive of this tape is temperature rated to 194 °F (90 °C) with an emergency overload rating to 266 °F (130 °C). To use, simply stretch the tape and apply it in successive half-lapped layers. Continue this process throughout the entire application until the build-up produces a uniform winding.

Scotch® Rubber Splicing Tape 23 is halogen-free and has a shelf life of 5 years. It is an ideal choice for wire splicing and insulation applications.

This tape is RoHS and Prop 65 compliant and self-certified to ASTM D4388, Type III up to 69 kV.
