3M High Performance Industrial Plastic Adhesive 4693 dries quickly with an open bond time of approximately 20 minutes. Its assembled bonds are proven to be strong while resisting weathering as well as damage from water and the sun. Additionally, it bonds well to plastics, providing long-term adhesion as well as good resistance to cleaning products.

  • High performance adhesive forms strong bonds on most plastics, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and polyolefin blends (TPO)
  • Bonds well to other plastics, such as ABS, PMMA and nylons, polyesters, rigid polystyrene

    For our high-performance adhesive, a full cure could happen anywhere from hours to days. However, the lap shear strength initially reaches approximately half its ultimate strength in the time span between 20 minutes and an hour.

    Yes! Application is as simple as applying your product evenly onto both sides of cleaned substrate surfaces (that have no oil or grease) then squeeze together until you gain initial bond strength.

Applying Your Adhesive

Applying your 3M™ adhesive is a simple process, whether it is being brushed or rolled on. Start by carefully applying the adhesive to your surface until you have formed a uniform coat. One coat should be sufficient for most surfaces, but some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. To apply additional adhesive, wait until the existing adhesive becomes dry to the touch, and then proceed with the application of the additional coat.
