PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What are the dimensions of the 3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9482PC?

This tape comes in a roll that is 6 inches wide and 100 yards long, with a thickness of 2 mil. It's a perfect size for many bonding applications!

  2. Is the 3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9482PC clear, and will it be visible on my finished product?

Yes, it's completely clear! Since it's transparent, it won't show through or affect the appearance of your bonded materials, making it ideal for aesthetic applications.

  3. How many rolls come in each case of the 9482PC?

Each case contains 1 roll, so you're getting a single 6 inch by 100 yard roll per order. It's great to have on hand for consistent bonding needs.

  4. What makes 3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9482PC different from regular tape?

This is a transfer tape, meaning it has adhesive on both sides with a release liner in between. Once you remove the liner, it bonds two surfaces together permanently, making it perfect for laminating, mounting, and assembly applications where traditional tape won't work.

Join High and Low Surface Energy Materials

3M™ Adhesive Transfer Tape 9482PC represents a sophisticated bonding solution with a thickness of 2.0 mil (.05 mm), engineered to address complex adhesion challenges across diverse material combinations. This advanced transfer tape incorporates 3M™ Adhesive 350, a specially formulated modified acrylic adhesive system developed specifically for applications that demand exceptional shear strength performance. The adhesive formulation is applied to a distinctive tan-colored, 58 lb. polycoated kraft (PCK) liner that provides inherent moisture resistance properties and substantially reduces the formation of wrinkles during storage and application. Featuring a solvent-free composition, this tape meets industry standards for high-performance applications while demonstrating remarkable resistance to a wide spectrum of chemical substances including petroleum products, lubricating oils, saline solutions, and various acidic and alkaline compounds. The incorporation of fiber reinforcement within the adhesive matrix ensures superior roll stability, particularly beneficial when working with narrow tape widths that require precision handling.

Recommended Applications
  • Bonding high and low surface energy materials and powder coated paints
  • Narrow width automated dispensing operations
  • Bonding foams to low surface energy materials while maintaining elevated temperature performance capabilities
  • Gasketing and sealing applications
  • Labeling and identification purposes
High Temperature Adhesion

3M™ Adhesive 350 is formulated as a high-tack, high-performance acrylic adhesive system that delivers exceptional initial adhesion strength when bonding metals and high surface energy plastics. This adhesive demonstrates outstanding resistance to challenging environmental conditions including elevated humidity, water exposure, solvent contact, various chemical agents, and temporary heat exposure. A defining characteristic of this adhesive system is its impressive shear strength, which measures the material's ability to resist sliding forces applied along planes parallel to the direction of applied force. The adhesive is engineered to withstand demanding temperature environments, accommodating temporary exposure conditions up to 450°F/232°C and sustained operational use up to 300°F/149°C.

What are Adhesive Transfer Tapes?

3M adhesive transfer tapes are available in roll form with pressure-sensitive adhesive pre-applied to a specialized release liner substrate. Distinctively, these products consist exclusively of adhesive material without any additional backing layer or support structure. During application, the tape is positioned with the adhesive side in direct contact with the primary substrate surface, after which the release liner is carefully removed to expose the adhesive's secondary side, positioning it to receive and bond with the mating substrate.
