The main purpose of the 3M™ Cloth Spiral Band 341D is for sanding and finishing flat surfaces, contoured edges, and curves on various materials including wood, metals and composite.

  2. What does P180 X-weight mean?

P180 refers to the grit size or coarseness of the abrasive material used in this spiral band. In this case, P180 indicates a fine grit that works well for preparing surfaces for final finishes. Meanwhile, X-weight refers to how much reinforcement there is within the cloth backing - with "X" indicating an extra heavy weight level.

  3. How many bands come in each case?

One case of 3M™ Cloth Spiral Band contains one hundred (100) unused bands that measure approximately half-inch by a half-inch each.

Product Description: 3M™ Abrasive Cloth Band 341D

This versatile product is not only great for metalworking, but also for shaping and smoothing wood and fiberglass. The 3M™ Abrasive Cloth Band 341D is designed to fit onto a rubber wheel attachment, such as a cushion polishing wheel or a rubber slotted expander wheel (both sold separately), for use with a die grinder or rotary drill.

Constructed with aluminum oxide mineral, this product is a popular choice among industrial professionals due to its fast cut-rate, durability, and long life. It can be used on a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys, and is the most commonly used industrial abrasive.

The abrasive particles are adhered to the cloth backing with resin, creating a strong bond that withstands high heat and pressure. The bands come in a range of widths and lengths to suit different contours and tasks, and are often used in foundry work.
