3M Cloth Belt 707E uses a 3M Ceramic Aluminum Oxide Abrasives blend and is designed for light to moderate-pressure stock removal and finishing operations when you need a conformable belt for contoured surfaces. The belt is constructed with a blend of 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain and premium aluminum oxide to offer more durability and cutting efficiency over non-ceramic abrasives.

  • 3M™ Ceramic Aluminum Oxide Abrasives blend surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in durability and cut-rate, producing more parts per belt and requiring fewer belt changes
  • Flexible rayon backing conforms to contoured parts for consistent finishing
  • Incorporated grinding aid reduces heat and increases performance when used on stainless steel and other exotic metals
  • Durable resin bond resists deterioration from heat, extending the life of the belt
  • Choose this belt for light to moderate-pressure stock removal, blending, and scratch refinement

PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is 3M™ Cloth Belt 707E and what are its specifications?

The 3M™ Cloth Belt 707E is a high-performance abrasive belt that comes with a JE-weight backing. It measures 3-1/2 in x 15-1/2 in and has a Fabri-lok, Single-flex construction. This product provides consistent finishes on a broad range of metals.

  2. How durable is this cloth belt during use?

The durability of this abrasive cloth belt depends upon how it’s used. However, the JE-weight backing makes it ideal for tougher applications.

  3. Is the single-flex design suitable for all types of metal surfaces?

Yes, the Fabri-lok, Single-flex design is an excellent choice for grinding/polishing soft metals like aluminum or brass to hard steel alloys used widely in automotive and aerospace industries.

  4. How will I know when I need to replace these belts since they wear out over time?

You can generally track whether your belts require replacement by inspecting them frequently before or after each usage. We recommend changing between several grits which may contribute to longer life cycle during grinding process if maintaining best practice techniques recommended with other abrasives products as well e.g., regulating speed appropriately, avoiding overheating the material being worked on etc...

  5. .This seems perfect for large production runs; Do you offer any volume discounts?

.At this time we do offer volume discounts at various levels depending upon customer needs. Our sales representatives would be able provide more information about that so please feel free to contact our customer service department

3M™ Cloth Belt 707E is a durable and efficient abrasive belt that is constructed with a blend of 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain and premium aluminum oxide. The flexible rayon cloth backing easily follows contours and can wrap around parts, making it a good choice when using a soft contact wheel or slack of belt. This belt can be used wet or dry.

Use this belt for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and scratch refinement on stainless steel, cobalt chrome, titanium, and carbon steel. An incorporated grinding aid helps reduce running temperatures to protect heat sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, nickel alloys, and cobalt alloys from heat-related stress cracks and discoloration. The abrasive is firmly bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure.

3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain is a ceramic mineral designed using our proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness of the grain. For increased performance, 3M™ Cloth Belt 707E products feature aluminum oxide blended with 3M ceramic grain for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive. Ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and handle intense heat and stress applications, making them perfect for moderate to heavy stock removal. The ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making 3M™ Cloth Belt 707E an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation.

Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. 3M offers a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are designed for wide belt sanders for flat finishing, medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or on a feed-thru style flat finisher, and narrow belts can be used on backstands for grinding and finishing or on file tools for finishing in right angle corners.
