PRODUCT FAQ

  1. I'm happy to help answer any questions you may have about our Bondo® Fiberglass Resin Liquid Hardener. Feel free to ask anything!

The Bonding Component of Permanent Home or Auto Repairs
A little secret: when it comes to common repairs around the home or shop, the effectiveness of well-known Bondo® products like Bondo® Fiberglass Resin and Bondo® Metal Reinforced Filler heavily relies on the hardener used with them. That's where Bondo® Fiberglass Resin Liquid Hardener comes in. Specifically designed to work with these products, this hardener is easy to dispense from its tube and chemically bonds with the resin or filler. The result is a fast-curing and easily-shaped material that can be used for a wide range of home repairs.

Bondo® Fiberglass Resin Liquid Hardener is perfect for various applications, including auto body repair, as well as interior and exterior home repairs such as tubs, showers, sinks, pools, hot tubs, and boats. The cured resin is compatible with almost any paint system, including gel coat and marine paint. Additionally, the filler is strong enough to anchor, drill, or tap and provides a metallic appearance that is resistant to rust.

Use During the Fill Stage of the 3M™ Body Repair System
Even a seemingly small repair can appear complex at first. That's why 3M has developed the Body Repair System, which simplifies the entire automotive body repair process by breaking it down into four stages:

Stage 1 – Prepare.  This stage involves tasks such as pulling dents, removing paint and rust, and efficiently masking the area.

Stage 2 – Fill. During this stage, holes are patched with reinforced filler, and the filler is smoothed and shaped before painting.

Stage 3  Paint. At this stage, the area is painted, and primer and paint are blended and smoothed.

Stage 4 – Finish. The final stage ensures showroom-grade results by addressing small defects, sealing, and polishing clear coats and other painted surfaces.

3M provides premium products, including abrasives, tapes, body fillers, and tools, for each stage of the Body Repair System. This comprehensive system allows you to work easily, efficiently, and successfully throughout the entire body repair process.

Bringing Science to the Art of Auto Body Repair
As a brand under the umbrella of 3M, Bondo is highly regarded by boat manufacturers and collision repair professionals. This hardener, which is a crucial component for use with Bondo Fiberglass Resin and Bondo® Metal Reinforced Filler, exemplifies how 3M applies scientific principles to real-life situations. By using these products, you can restore and maintain the beauty and value of your cars, boats, and other possessions in and around your home or shop.
