    Unlike traditional systems that use hooks and loops, Dual Lock uses interlocking mushroom-shaped heads to create a secure attachment. It can be opened and closed thousands of times without losing strength, making it ideal for frequently accessed or repositioned items.

  3. How strong is the fastening power of this product?

    The Type 250/250 construction (meaning there are 250 stems per square inch on both sides) provides up to five times the closure strength than typical hook-and-loop closures. This can reliably hold ten pounds or more depending on temperature conditions, substrates used etc.

Hundreds of Reattachments in a Snap

When two pieces of 3M™ Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fasteners mate, the stems flex and the mushroom heads slide past each other. After passing the opposing mating piece, the stems snap back into their original position and the opposing mushroom heads interlock. These fasteners can provide high tensile strength but can be opened by simply cleaving or peeling open the closure. This product is well suited for many indoor and outdoor applications where a high strength and versatile reclosable fastening system is required.
