PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is 3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Powder Resin 263 and what makes it different from other products in the market?

3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Powder Resin 263 is a two-part electrical grade epoxy powder resin system. It's specifically designed for protecting, insulating and sealing both low- and high-voltage power cable joints. This unique product offers an economical option with excellent handling characteristics that are not found in many of our competitors' products.

  2. Is it easy to install this product without any special tools or equipment?

Yes! One of the great advantages of using this product is its ease of installation. You don't need any special tools or equipment because it comes in a convenient package where you just mix the two components together making a putty-like substance which can be easily applied by hand directly into a joint.

  3. Can I expect good results even when working under adverse weather conditions like rainy day?

Yes, Even though extreme rain may affect your productivity while doing cable splicing work outdoors with some resins, but this is not an issue with this particular resin as we have observed that moisture or humid environments will not impact its performance due to having no direct contact with atmospheric air.

  4. Does your company provide any type of guidance on how to optimally use this product for maximum benefits?

: Absolutely! We believe customer success must always come first, so whether you're looking for technical assistance during application or advice on selecting the best material for your specific needs, our technical experts can help you find solutions tailored to suit your individual requirements.

  5. : How should I store these materials after opening them up once? Do they come with proper storage suggestions/instructions?

: Good question - All packaging from 3M does include clear instructions on proper storage techniques for maintaining maximum shelf life after opening the package. Generally speaking though; it's recommended to keep the epoxy powder and hardening agent separate in their orignal bags, store them inside a dry, well-ventilated location in moderate temperatures and ensuring that they are protected from moisture or freezing.

3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 263 has a low gel point rating to ensure a quick curing process. The resin is made from a fusion blend process. It offers the components necessary to provide a complete cure and meet required performance properties.

It provides a continuous, tough moisture and chemical resistant dielectric coating to a variety of substrates. This makes it ideal for applications that need excellent thermal shock and mechanical shock resistance. Additionally, its high dielectric strength offers excellent electrical insulating property to the resin, thus making it an ideal insulator for creating a barrier between two conductors.
