    Scotch Brite™ Hookit™ Conversion Face 28802 is a product that helps you convert your traditional sanding machine to a hook-and-loop attachment system. This enables you to use different types of abrasive discs, wheels or brushes with your sander.

  2. What are the dimensions and package details of this product?

    This conversion face comes in a bag containing one faceplate which measures 6 inches in diameter. Each case contains five sets of these faces allowing for flexibility when changing out abrasives.

  3. Can this conversion face be used on any type of sander?

    The Scotch Brite™ Hookit™ Conversion Face 28802 has been created specifically for an orbital sander, so we would not recommend using it on other types such as belt or drum units but can work exceptionally well with tools designed for low-pressure finishing jobs!

Conversion Face Method of Operation

The Scotch-Brite™ Hookit™ Conversion Face is a versatile tool that can be used with 3M™ Hookit™ Back Up Pads or as provided with 3M™ Orbital and Random Orbital Sanders. The conversion face has a high loft black brushed nylon loop backing that firmly attaches to the Hookit™ Back Up Pads. The hook side of the conversion face has small, white mushroom headed hooks that go through the web of the Scotch Brite™ 7447 Pro & 7448 Pro Discs and most other 3M™ Scotch Brite™ non-woven products. The Scotch-Brite™ Hookit™ Conversion Face comes in several sizes to accommodate varying sizes of Hookit™ Back Up Pads. To use coated abrasive products, simply remove the conversion face from the back up pad and attach an appropriate Hookit™ disc.

The Many Benefits of Non-Woven Abrasives

Scotch-Brite™ Pro Discs are unique surface conditioning products that feature mineral coated on non-woven nylon fibers. The fiber coating technology allows Scotch-Brite™ Pro abrasive products to cut faster and produce a consistent scratch, reducing the time and effort it takes to finish parts. The combination of mineral with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load resistant and keeps abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers. These discs are commonly used for tough cleaning, scuffing, and finishing jobs.

Instead of using a different tool entirely or being forced to drive non-woven abrasives by hand, these conversion faces allow operators to use the same tool and make the most of both non-woven and coated abrasive discs.
