Scotch-Brite Hookit Production Clean and Finish Disc delivers high cut, long life, a fine finish, and is effective for conditioning aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, wood, and fiberglass. The disc is designed for fine finishing, paint prepping, and scratch blending, and conforms well to irregular surfaces for a clean, consistent finish without undercutting or damaging the base material.

The disc is made of non-woven, open-web material that runs cool and resists loading, ensuring a consistent level of abrasive conditioning throughout its life.

The disc is manufactured using aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals due to its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral is tough and durable, self-fracturing to expose fresh cutting edges during use. Unlike traditional abrasives, such as garnet, aluminum oxide mineral does not wear down quickly. It is suitable for use on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

Scotch-Brite™ is a unique surface conditioning product that incorporates abrasives into non-woven nylon fibers. This creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers.

A complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M™ Hookit™ discs is offered for workspaces where adhesive-backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. Hookit™ sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and be used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. They are often used in applications where a 3M™ Stikit™ disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit™ discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive-backed discs.
