You can use this IDC with common thermoplastic insulated wires, such as T, TF, TFF, TFN, TFFN, AWM, TEW, SAE-GPT, with a maximum insulation diameter of .120 in (3.0 mm). Tap Connector 558 is capable of connecting a tap wire to a run wire, in the range of No. 22 thru No. 16 AWG made of solid or stranded copper.
This Insulation Displacement Connector is used for control circuit wiring, fixture wiring, appliance wiring, cable connecting, signal and PA systems and automotive/boat/RV wiring. It is 600V rated for building wire and 1000V rated for signs, fixtures and luminaires. The connector can be used in temperatures of up to 221 °F (105 °C).
