PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What is 3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 10N, part A used for?

3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 10N, part A is a two-part epoxy insulating and encapsulating resin that's designed to help protect electrical equipment from moisture and contaminants.

  2. How much does this product weigh?

Each pail contains 50 pounds of resin.

  3. Is this product safe to use?

Yes! Following the instructions and using safety equipment such as gloves and protective eyewear, users can safely handle and apply this product.

  4. Can I use it with all types of wire or only certain ones?

This product is suitable for a wide range of applications involving splicing wires up to 1000 volts. It can work with copper or aluminum conductors coated in polyvinyl chloride (PVC), cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) or other typical materials used in the industry.

  5. . Does the compound shrink when cured?

. No! The system produces extremely little by-product during cure so there's no distortion to worry about after hardening as well as keeps its insulating properties over time provided the surface area wasn't disturbed while setting up properly

3M™ Scotchcast™ Electrical Resin 10N has a low gel point rating to ensure curing at room temperature. The high tensile strength of the resin exhibits a semi flexible and good adhesion property after curing. It is ideal for applications that need excellent thermal shock and mechanical shock resistance. Its high dielectric strength offers excellent electrical insulating property to the resin. It has a high flash point, helping prevent any fire hazard due to quick ignition. Since the resin exhibits hydrolytic stability property, it minimizes quick chemical decomposition, thus providing long lasting usage. MIL I 16923E Certified and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
