3M™ Perfect-it™ Finishing Material is a product that, when used as part of the 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1-Step System, can eliminate compounding from the paint finishing process. This is a desirable outcome for collision repair and detailing professionals, as it allows for faster completion of paint finishing jobs without sacrificing a showroom-quality finish on most vehicles. The 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1-Step Finishing Material is fast-cutting and can be applied immediately after scratch refinement with 3M™ Trizact™ 3000 and 3M™ Trizact™ 8000 Abrasives. It serves as both a compound and polish in one, and is formulated for longer work times, even in extreme conditions. This is especially important in places where heat and humidity are common inside or outside of the shop. The material won’t become sticky during use or leave a powder or film residue that can cause rework. It holds on the pad, reducing the mess, waste, and cleanup time associated with sling.

The 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1-Step System

The 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1-Step Finishing Material is an integral part of a complete system that eliminates compounding in the paint finishing process. The system includes:

  • 3M™ Trizact™ Foam Abrasive Disc (3000 grade). This foam disc features long lasting, even-wearing abrasive for removing 1500 or 2000 grade sand scratches on painted surfaces.
  • 3M™ Trizact™ Foam Abrasive Disc (8000 grade). This new abrasive helps bridge the gap between the process and the abrasives for scratch refinement and polish.
  • 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1-Step Finishing Material. The material is developed specifically for use with this system.
  • 3M™ Perfect-It™ 1-Step Foam Finishing Pad. This buffing pad combines the performance of the 3M™ Perfect-It™ Foam Compounding Pad (white) and the 3M™ Perfect-It™ Ultrafine Foam Polishing Pad (blue). It is available in 6” and 8” pads with Quick Connect attachment and Hookit™ attachment in 6”, 8” and 4” pads.
