3M Perfect-It Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax is formulated to quickly remove light to medium oxidation, light scratches, swirl marks and other minor defects from gelcoat. This polish removes scratches of P1500 or finer, and leaves a polished wax finish without swirls even in difficult dark-colored gelcoats.

    This product is specially designed to remove minor defects, such as light scratches, swirl marks and oxidation from boat gelcoats. It also includes a wax component that gives the surface a high gloss finish while protecting it against UV rays.

  2. How much does one quart (32 fl oz) of this product cover?

    One quart of 3M™ Perfect-It™ Gelcoat Light Cutting Polish + Wax can cover up to 50 square feet. However, coverage will depend on the condition of the gelcoat surface being treated.

  3. Is this product safe for use on all types of boats and surfaces?

    Yes! This polishing compound has been extensively tested and found suitable for use on all marine craft with colored or clear coated fiberglass gelcoats. It may also be used safely on painted aluminum or chrome surfaces as well.

    The optimal process for using this polish would involve an electric rotary buffer preferably equipped with a foam-cutting pad at medium speed. A circular overlapping back-and-forth motion pattern covering about two square feet per pass should be sufficient in most cases.
