Performance in Demanding Conditions

3M Polyester Tape 8902 is a high-quality, durable polyester tape designed for use in challenging environments. It is particularly well-suited for masking applications in high temperature settings and adheres effectively to surfaces coated with silicone. The tape features a tear-resistant translucent blue backing, ensuring its longevity and reliability. Coated with a silicone adhesive, this tape is perfect for masking during powder coating processes, delivering precise and sharp paint lines. It can be easily removed in one piece from most surfaces, eliminating the risk of slivering or breaking. Additionally, this tape excels in permanent splicing operations involving silicone liners, papers, and films that are exposed to high temperatures.

Thanks to its excellent chemical resistance, this tape is highly effective in chemical processes and demanding work conditions, such as anodization. The pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive performs exceptionally well across a wide range of temperatures, from -60F (-50C) to 400F (204C).

Recommended Applications
  • Masking parts for high temperature powder coat painting
  • Splicing of silicone liners, films, and papers
