Type 83 vs. Type 84 Attachments

3M Flap Wheel 244D is available in two attachment styles: type 83 (T83) and type 84 (T84). These flap wheels are designed to be compatible with different power tools, allowing operators to choose the right wheel for their needs. T83 features a 1/4" straight shaft that connects to a tool, such as a die grinder, and is secured in place with a collet. The longer shaft length of T83 provides operators with an extended reach between the abrasive and the workpiece, which can be advantageous in certain applications. On the other hand, T84 is a 1/4 - 20 threaded spindle mount, allowing it to be directly threaded onto the tool.
