  2. What size does this product come in?

This particular type of cloth disc comes in a size of 12 inches x NH (no hole), which means it can easily fit most common sanding tools.

  3. Can you tell me more about Die number and Box quantity for this product?

Yes! The die code “1200B” identifies the production run or batch where each individual disc was manufactured. And one case contains a total of ten discs.

  4. What are some common applications for these discs?

Some industries use this product for grinding and finishing work on metals such as mild steel; stainless steel; titanium alloys; nickel alloys; nonferrous materials like brass, bronze or copper; and wood. They are commonly used in various automotive body repair works too.

The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D

The 3M™ PSA Cloth Disc 348D is a sanding disc that is ideal for heavy duty and high heat sanding applications. It features a cloth backing and a heat-resistant resin bond that make it a durable and reliable choice for a variety of sanding tasks. The disc is designed for use on metal surfaces and is capable of providing a fast and efficient method for deburring, blending, cleaning up, and finishing metal parts and surfaces of various sizes and shapes.

The disc is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) disc that is pressed onto a backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander. This makes it easy to use and ensures that it stays securely in place during use.

The 348D features an aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives such as garnet quickly wear down with use. Due to their fast cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, they are widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

Heat-resistant resin is a sturdy binding agent that adheres the abrasive to the backing and maintains the stability of the bond even in conditions of high heat or pressure. This ensures that the disc remains effective and reliable even in demanding applications.
