Transferring Power to the Paint

The 3M™ Finesse-it™ Contact Disc Pad is a crucial component of the 3M™ Finesse-it™ Paint Repair System. This disc pad is 1 inch thick with a 5/8-11 inch internal thread and is designed to be used with 5-1/4-inch buff pads or 5-inch Hookit abrasive discs. It is recommended to use this soft density disc pad with a rotary sander or right angle grinder at a maximum rpm of 7000. The thickness and compressibility of the pad allows for excellent contouring to follow panel shapes in buffing and polishing applications. Additionally, it "cushions the blow" when sanding metal with fine grade abrasives.

Back-up pads are essential to support the disc or buff pad and evenly distribute pressure to the work piece. It is important to select the appropriate back-up pad for best performance and durability.

3M Disc Pads are designed to create the lowest vibration and best sanding performance while using 3M power tool and abrasive accessories.
