What are the recommended surfaces to use 3M™ Nitrile High Performance Plastic Adhesive 1099 on?

This adhesive is ideal for bonding a wide variety of plastics including hard-to-bond ones like polypropylene and polyethylene. It can also be used on metals, wood, and other substrates.
How much time does it take for the adhesive to dry?

At room temperature, this adhesive will set in about 15 seconds and reach handling strength in approximately 30 seconds. Full cure takes 24 hours.
Is this product safe to use?

Yes, our high performance plastic adhesive meets federal VOC regulations and is formulated without chlorinated solvents for added safety. However, as with all chemicals, please read the label carefully before using it.

Speed Up the Bonding Process

3M™ Nitrile High Performance Plastic Adhesive 1099 is a fast-drying adhesive that forms a durable bond at room temperature. It also has an optional heat-initiated chemical reaction to achieve even higher bond properties. This adhesive is sprayable with industrial grade spray equipment, making it convenient and consistent for large scale applications.

Applying Your Adhesive

Whether it is being sprayed, brushed, or rolled on, the application of your 3M™ adhesive is a straightforward process. Start by carefully applying your adhesive to your surface until you've formed a uniform coat. Using an overlapping pattern, the application of one coat should prove sufficient for most surfaces. Effective adhesive coverage is accomplished when 80% or more of the surface is covered. Some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. In order to apply additional adhesive, simply wait until the existing adhesive becomes dry to the touch, and then proceed with the application of the additional coat.
