3M Nitrile High Performance Plastic Adhesive 1099L dries quickly with an open time of approximately 40 minutes. Its assembled bonds are proven to be strong while resisting weathering as well as damage from water, oil and fuel. Additionally, it bonds well to plastics and vinyl, providing long-term adhesion as well as good resistance to plasticizer migration.

Our 3M™ Nitrile High Performance Plastic Adhesive 1099 is perfect for bonding a variety of substrates, including leather, most vinyl sheeting used in awnings, upholstery, and faux leather, as well as plastics. It creates a strong and long-lasting bond, but may cause staining on thin or light-colored vinyls.

3M™ Nitrile High Performance Plastic Adhesive 1099 allows you to quickly meet the requirements of your bonding application. This adhesive dries fast at room temperature and forms a durable bond. It also has an optional heat-initiated chemical reaction to achieve even higher bond properties. Additionally, this adhesive is sprayable with industrial grade spray equipment, making it convenient and consistent for large scale applications.

Applying Your Adhesive

Applying your 3M™ adhesive is a straightforward process, whether it is being sprayed, brushed, or rolled on. Start by carefully applying the adhesive to your surface until you’ve formed a uniform coat. Using an overlapping pattern, one coat should be sufficient for most surfaces. Effective adhesive coverage is achieved when 80% or more of the surface is covered. Some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. To apply additional adhesive, wait until the existing adhesive becomes dry to the touch, and then proceed with the application of the additional coat.
