3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F – Premium Performance Abrasive Solution

The 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F is engineered to deliver exceptional performance and durability for a wide range of metalworking applications. This advanced flap disc combines the flexibility and user-friendly design you expect from a premium abrasive, with innovative features that set it apart in the industry. Its conformable construction allows for smooth operation and reduces the risk of gouging, making it ideal for both novice and experienced users.

At the heart of the 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F is the newly re-engineered 3M Precision-Shaped Grain, now designed with curved sides for enhanced cutting efficiency. This proprietary grain technology is supported by a robust polyester backing, ensuring the disc maintains its integrity even under demanding conditions. When used on carbon steel, this flap disc demonstrates remarkable productivity—removing up to 49% more material than the 3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 969F 40+ grade, and up to 66% more than the 3M™ Flap Disc 769F 40+ grade.

Designed for medium to high-pressure applications, the 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F excels in tasks such as beveling, weld grinding, deburring, and working on edges and contours. Its ability to leave a refined finish makes it an excellent choice for blending and surface preparation, streamlining your workflow and reducing the need for additional finishing steps.

The innovative 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology is engineered to continually fracture into sharp, self-renewing points. Unlike conventional abrasives that tend to plow through metal, this unique design slices cleanly through the substrate, maintaining a consistently high cut-rate and extending the life of the disc. This means you can rely on the 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F for long-lasting, efficient performance throughout your project.

Technical Tip

In many situations, the 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F allows you to both grind and finish in a single step, eliminating the need to switch abrasives. Under typical conditions, this flap disc produces a finish that is one grade finer than a fiber disc of the same grade. While fiber discs may offer a faster initial cut, the 1169F flap disc can help you save time by reducing the number of steps and disc changes required, making your workflow more efficient and cost-effective.
