Enhanced with 3M’s latest Precision-Shaped Grain technology—now featuring a unique curved side design—and a robust polyester backing, the 1169F flap disc is specifically optimized for use on carbon steel.

When compared to previous generations, the 3M™ Cubitron™ 3 Flap Disc 1169F stands out for its remarkable efficiency. It removes up to 49% more material than the 3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 969F 40+ grade, and up to 66% more than the 3M™ Flap Disc 769F 40+ grade. This makes it a top performer for medium to high-pressure tasks such as beveling, weld grinding, deburring, and working on challenging edges and contours. The disc also produces a refined finish, making it an excellent choice for blending and surface preparation tasks.

At the heart of the 1169F’s performance is 3M’s proprietary Precision-Shaped Grain, now re-engineered with curved sides. This innovative grain technology is designed to continually fracture into sharp, fresh points that slice cleanly through metal, rather than plowing through the substrate like traditional abrasives. Under typical conditions, the 1169F produces a finish that is one grade finer than a fiber disc of the same grade. While fiber discs may offer a faster initial cut, the flap disc’s ability to streamline your workflow by reducing steps and disc change-outs can help you save valuable time and increase productivity.
