PRODUCT FAQ

  1. What makes the 3M™ Polyester Film Tape 850 special?

The 3M™ Polyester Film Tape 850 is made of a transparent polyester film that offers excellent abrasion and chemical resistance, making it ideal for applications in industries like aerospace, electronics, and transportation.

  2. What are the dimensions of this tape?

The tape measures at 3.5 inches x 72 yards (88.9 mm x 65.8 m), with a thickness of just under two mils (0.05 mm).

  3. Can I use this tape on uneven surfaces?

Yes! The strong adhesive on our polyester film tape creates an aggressive bond to most surfaces - even those with difficult textures.

  4. Is there any other color option for this product besides transparent?

At this time, we only offer the clear version of our polyester film tape.

  5. Do you sell this product as individual rolls or only by case quantity?

An Aggressive and Permanent Hold

3M™ Polyester Film Tape 850 is a high-strength tape that is commonly used for splicing and web applications. The backing is made of a thin, abrasion-resistant polyester that helps to reduce splice failures and withstands rough handling and web processing. The tape is coated with an aggressive pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive that provides a strong hold upon contact. It meets low-caliper requirements to ensure it won't interfere with most machinery. The tape can withstand a wide temperature range from -60°F/-50°C to 300°F/150°C.
