3M Xtract Cubitron II Film Disc 775L features 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology now available to grade 1000+. The triangular shaped ceramic mineral is designed to slice through the substrate, rather than gouging or plowing like conventional abrasives, resulting in a disc that cuts up to 2x as fast and lasts up to 6x as long as conventional abrasives without compromising finish.
- REVOLUTIONARY GRAIN DESIGN: 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology provides fast cut and long life without compromising finish - now available from grades 80+ to 1000+
- DESIGNED FOR CLEAN SANDING: The 3M Xtract™ proprietary multi-hole pattern provides superior dust extraction to prevent loading, help increase productivity, and provide a cleaner work environment
- WORKS WELL ON MANY SURFACES: Suitable for use on all metals, composites, wood, paints, primers, and other coatings
- DURABLE FILM BACKING: Film backing offers greater tear resistance and edge retention while leaving a consistent finish compared to paper-backed discs
- QUICK AND EASY DISC CHANGES: The 3M™ Hookit™ attachment system allows for easy disc changes and helps optimize disc life
- COVERS A WIDE RANGE OF APPLICATIONS: Versatile disc handles finishing and stock removal applications

PRODUCT FAQ
-
What is the 3M Xtract Cubitron II Film Disc made of?
The 3M Xtract Cubitron II Film Disc is made with precision shaped ceramic grain technology.
-
What sizes are available for the 3M Xtract Cubitron II Film Disc?
This disc comes in various sizes, but this specific one measures 5 inches.
-
How many pieces are included in each case and how it's packed inside the case?
There are total of 250 pieces per case, which includes five separate packs of fifty discs each. These packs come sealed to prevent any contamination and keep them fresh until they're ready for use.
-
Is there a backing pad that can be used with this disc or does it need to be mounted on an adhesive backup pad?
A die-based backing pad also called as "back up pads" is needed to attach the disc onto a tool. The product code that has been designed specifically for use with these discs is our Die#500LG backing plate, although other brands may work as well (consult your tool manufacturer).
-
What level grit is offered with this particular product code-180+?
The `grass type' abrasive finish translates to roughly P220/P240 level grit standard using CAMI (Coated Abrasive Manufacturers Institute) grading system based on scratch patterns left on sandpaper surface after use – equivalent to very fine sandpaper.
3M offers a range of sanding discs for various applications, including stock removal on metals, composites, gelcoat, and whitewood. The film backing provides additional durability and edge retention, making it ideal for heavy-duty use. For optimal results, use with 3M™ Elite Random Orbital Sanders.
Hook-and-Loop Style Discs:3M™ Hookit™ discs are available for workspaces where adhesive-backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt. Hookit™ discs are often used in applications where a 3M™ Stikit™ disc may be too aggressive, as they tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive-backed discs. These sanding discs attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life.
Clean Sanding Products:3M's proprietary multi-hole pattern on Clean Sanding products evacuates dust at a higher rate than 5- or 6-hole products. This hole design doesn't require alignment of holes with the disc pad, making disc changes quick and simple. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are placed with space between them to help evacuate dust and other sanding debris and avoid clogging the cutting edge of the grains. The load-resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the disc and hinder sanding ability. For maximum dust extraction, use this disc with a 3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding pad and a random orbital sander with vacuum (both sold separately).
