Product Description:

3M offers a range of sanding discs for various applications, including stock removal on metals, composites, gelcoat, and whitewood. The film backing provides additional durability and edge retention, making it ideal for heavy-duty use. For optimal results, use with 3M™ Elite Random Orbital Sanders.

Hook-and-Loop Style Discs:

3M™ Hookit™ discs are available for workspaces where adhesive-backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt. Hookit™ discs are often used in applications where a 3M™ Stikit™ disc may be too aggressive, as they tend to leave finer finishes. These sanding discs attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used for the extent of the abrasive life.

Clean Sanding Discs:

3M's proprietary multi-hole pattern on Clean Sanding products evacuates dust at a higher rate than 5- or 6-hole products. This hole design doesn't require alignment of holes with the disc pad, making disc changes quick and simple. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are placed with space between them to help evacuate dust and other sanding debris and avoid clogging the cutting edge of the grains. The load-resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the disc and hinder sanding ability. For maximum dust extraction, use this disc with a 3M™ Hookit™ Clean Sanding pad and a random orbital sander with vacuum (both sold separately).
